Episode 22 - Kerry Brannigan from Hygge at Clifton Bay
In Episode 22, I chat with Kerry Brannigan, Co-owner of Hygge at Clifton Bay - Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Kerry and his wife, Robyn, had a vision in 2014 to create a Cafe that would be a special place for people to unwind, relax and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
In this episode, Kerry shares the power of having a clear vision and how it shaped the decisions they made and continue to make. We discussed the opening period (2018/19) and their challenges, having not been in the hospitality industry before.
Kerry joined THC as a coaching client (with initial COVID funding) in 2019 and began the journey of putting a best-practice approach into the business. In this chat, we examined how systems and strong financial reporting turned the company around. Kerry shares some key insights on team engagement through open-book management and how Hygge has turned into a highly profitable F&B business.
Kerry is one of the industryā€™s most authentic & caring leaders, and we are proud to have him as a member of our THC community.
